How to Back Up A Computer

Our computers have become a critical extension of our existence. We store our works in it, from academic research papers and articles to significant office and legal documents, from creative artworks to eventful journal entries. We also rely our joys on it, from memorable photographs and personal videos with families and friends to our favorite songs, films and MTVs

That's why it is important for us to backup our computer to ensure that everything we do will be safely stored and restored. Backing up is like making a duplicate of our computer files, storing copies of them in a separate memory bank so if in case the computer crashes and all the files inside it disappear, we still have exact file copies to hold on to.

Backing up can be done in four different ways. First, there is the conventional saving of computers files onto CDs and DVDs. This process known perhaps to all computer users, as one should just drag the files that she wants to back up on from the computer and then drop these files into the CD or DVD menu window. The second way of backing up is through using external devices, such as thumb drives. The drag and drop process is the same as the first, it's just that one inserts the external device inside a serial bus found in the CPU instead of putting CDs inside CD writers. The third one is by using a special backup software that collects all the files needed to have backups and stores them in an external device. The fourth one, which is the newest and arguably the most conventional, is by storing files on the Internet. This can be done through using the services of computer backing-up websites. One should just download a software of the website in her computer to facilitate communication between the computer system and the website. Most of these websites are initially free up to a certain memory limit, and if one wants to back up more and larger files, or wants to backup her entire computer, she has to upgrade the service and pay a certain amount to the service provider.
